The stages of a creation

" Every sculpture is first shaped in clay.

Then it is poured with a "mineral resin", a material which is as hard as stone, black , red or white inside, depending on the sculpture.

To the touch, it looks like metal, hard and smooth, with blue, brown or metallic glints.

Some sculptures are poured with plaster, as is the case with the one named "I'm breathing" ; here are explained the main stages of its creation.

The sculpture is first modeled in clay.

Once it's finished, a mould -made with plaster- take the shape of the sulpture.

The mould is opened and the clay taken out. The work in clay is destroyed then.

The mould is closed again ; mineral resin or plaster is poured in the cavity let by the clay.

The mould is broken in order to reveal the work.

The sculpture is finally given its patina.

This is not a sculpture, it's me !!
